How to use the mouse arrow to show here I’m pointing to?
Hi @Joao_Amador, do you mean in a Prezi Video recording?
Please note, that Prezi Video does not record your mouse cursor.
My cursor is not visible to the audience when using the Prezi Video conferencing tool. Also because we are not sharing the screen in zoom the annotate option does not appear which provides cursor emphasis options such as spotlight and an arrow feature. In addition, my clicker does not work with prezi video so I have to control the slide changes using the keyboard. Any thoughts on how to correct this? Thanks.
Hi @NBK, I’ve merged your question to the relevant topic.
Currently it is not possible to show your cursor with Prezi Video, but I will forward your request towards our developers.
At the moment no clicker is officially supported, but the Logitech Spotlight might work fine.
We will update this thread if we have any news about these features.
I´m interested in that tool. Please let me know if it´ll be available.
My students think it would be very useful
Hey @Lucia_Mejia I’ll forward your request to the developers as well. We’ll keep everyone posted as soon as we have updates
Is there a pointer tool or a way to record the mouse arrow to show what I am pointing to?
Hey @Karen_Small I’ve merged your request to the relevant thread. This is not currently available, however your request has been forwarded to our developers and we’ll update the thread once we have any updates
Hi, is this function still not available?
If not, is there some alternative way to ‘point’ to specific parts of the presentation (I’m using prezi video over google meet) without adding arrows to the presentation itself?
Hi @mary_wardle, there is no pointer function currently in Prezi.
You can add Zoom to areas over the thing you want to highlight, or fade in a circle / square. You can also click on objects during your conferencing which will zoom the content on the object you have clicked.
If the content in your presentation is a bit far apart, you can also point on them with your finger (you can also add a slightly transparent object to separate your content and make your hand also visible.)
Hope this helps!
I use prezi video with imported powerpoints. I would really be interested in being able to annotate on the fly while giving the presentation via zoom. Any update on whether your developers are looking at this?
Hi @Denis_McCarthy, this feature is not in development yet, but I will forward your feedback to our product team and we will update this thread once we have any news.
It would be a really nice feature to have.
It is not a solution just to zoom in, while the normal laser pointer is a way of leading the attention to a specific part of the screen without modifying the view.
In Prezi Video I use the mouse and it would be very nice if a ctrl-click could leave a short laserpoint blink where the mouse curser is located on the presentation and possible even ctrl+moving mouse for showing a laserpoint while the Ctrl is down.
Hi @Nils-Jorgen_Rasmusse, thanks for the feedback, I’ll forward it to our product team.
a few thoughts: I use prezi video for online lessons with for example webex. In this case I would appreciate a pointer (of course also for recordings with prezi video). I think prezi video was primarily designed to interact direktly with your content (to point with your finger).
In another thread I have read that prezi video is more optimized for video conferencing than prezi next (or present). Therfore I haven’t tried to use prezi next with webex in a “classic way” (share screen). In the classic way having a pointer would be no problem for video conferencing. I just don’t know how good prezi next works with video conferencing tools.
I think Nils-Jorgen_Rasmusse’s idea is very good.
Some kind of digital pointer would be really helpful. For in-person presentations, you could always use a laser pointer. But nowadays, in the time of social distancing, all of our presentations are online. So we need a way of “pointing” at a specific thing digitally on the page when your audience is in Live Prezi.
Zoom has this feature built-in to its whiteboard.
Thanks, @Johan_Julin, I’ll forward this feedback to our product team.
Is there a way to record the mouse or to have a pointer in the video. I am trying to explain parts of a full screen diagram without having to include multiple circles and arrows to indicate the areas I am talking about.
Hi @Sarah_Jacquet, there is no mouse recording or pointer feature in Prezi Video at the moment, but I’m going to forward your feedback to our product team.
Hi - I landed here looking for an answer to this question. I want to add my voice to those crying out for some way to point to a slide (yes, sorry, from powerpoint) that is being displayed in preze video. Please do this soon. Thank you.
