With Prezi Desktop, you can edit and store your presentations completely offline. There are, however, a few instances when connecting to the Internet is required:

Initial login
When you first log in to the desktop application, your license type needs to be verified in order to confirm your eligibility to use the app. Prezi Desktop is a Pro license feature.

Conversion of certain file types
Various file types require online conversion in order to work in Prezi. This process does not in any way put your content at risk or make it publicly available. If you don’t have an Internet connection or would like to avoid the conversion process altogether, please use the following file formats only:

  • Images: PNG, JPEG, JPG, GIF (non-animated), SWF (without actionscript)
  • Video: FLV, F4V, M4V, MP4
  • Audio: MP4, MP3

Presenting Youtube videos
If you’ve added Youtube videos to your presentation, these will only play if you can connect online. Videos uploaded from your computer will play offline too.

Use of some features
These features cannot be accessed when you are completely offline. When you are not connected to the Internet, they will be grayed out in the menus or result in error messages. If you would like to use any of them, please connect to the Internet.

*Note: Prezi Desktop is only available to Pro license holders.
